More than thirty years on from World Expo ’88, South Bank continues to be one of the state’s most iconic destinations, and a globally recognised riverside precinct.
South Bank Corporation has prepared its draft master plan for future South Bank that will guide the long-term evolution of the precinct. The draft master plan reflects community and stakeholder feedback previously received.
Consultation on the draft master plan has now closed. All feedback and submissions received during the consultation period will be reviewed to help prepare the final master plan for consideration by the Queensland Government in late 2023.
South Bank Corporation is excited for the future of South Bank and will continue to plan for and invest in the precinct’s evolution, ensuring it remains a world-class destination and a place for everyone.
Future improvements will be considered when spaces need to be renewed or there are opportunities to enhance the precinct’s appeal. Implementation of elements of the master plan to the project stage is subject to subsequent South Bank Corporation and Queensland Government consideration, funding availability and approvals.
